Two Poems
SECURITY
Sure looks the part
up front.
To the rear
all you've got
is Beware of Dog,
No Trespassing,
and a chain
that'd snap
with a shoulder.
LIFE SENTENCE
She can't abide
the ellipsis of age,
the exclamation of stroke,
the quiet stop of sleep.
She plans to go
with a dash
of her own design.
